The manufacturing process starts with you, the customer. A quick search through our Stock Spring Catalogue can result in your saving time and money if we can utilize one for you. If this option is not best, upon submitting a quote we will follow up and help you to capture any other needed details, examples being material size or finish. We may also make any design recommendations, to ensure a reliable spring, as well. Once you submit a purchase order the drawing and specs are reviewed to ensure a good design & all required tolerances are proofed for manufacture. Then your order is scheduled and sent to the relevent production section.
COILING PROCESS – the area where the automatic CNC coiling machinery is operated for production of your order. Automatic coilers can handle wire from 0.25mm to 20.00mm and complete precision work.
SECONDARY PROCESSING – is where batches will have further processing procedures done by an operator. This is where the ends of torsion springs are formed, where loops are put onto the ends of extension springs, and where wire forms are often tested. Further small processing is also occasionally required.
HEAT TREATMENT – is applied to all springs to the required specifications for the product.
QUALITY CONTROL – is part of an order’s journey from the start of the production journey through all stages to packaging & dispatch – so as to deliver the most reliable product possible – and to keep what we manufactured to your specifications. Spring tolerances are unique to the industry and tolerances are generally held to S.M.I commercial or precision standards, not to a machinist block. Longevity of the spring in its application is of paramont importance in all QC considerations.
FINISHING – There are many finishing touches that you can put on your springs. Some of these are necessary, while others may be called for by the design you have in mind. Examples of these finishes are painting, colour identification striping, powder coating, passivation, electro-plating or electro-polishing, and are mostly as an environmental protection.
SHIPPING – Before your springs are shipped our dispatch team packages them in bags, boxes, drums or pallets all dependent upon your requirements. We can handle customer stock codes on shipping details & release schedules to include forward orders. We can custom label each package and will ship using which ever freight carrier you request, or the most economical or the fastest method at the time. Auspring has the ability to analyse and serve accordingly.
